House in St Margarita - Mallorca, Spain By SCT "SANCHEZ-CANTALEJO + TOMAS"
Do you like this story?
The project consists of a detached house in the town of Santa Margarita, northwest of the island of Majorca. Designed by Spanish Architect, SCT "SANCHEZ-CANTALEJO + TOMAS". The site is located at the top of a hill, next to the church on the edge of town, with great views to the fields of Majorca and the great scenery mountains background of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains.
A concrete wall creates access to housing and closes completely to the edge of the village to provide privacy with respect to the neighbors yards. On these walls are lined supports a wooden box, closed to the people and to open hearings, establishing a dialogue between the strength of the concrete, the lightness of wood and the fragility of glass.
The house is organized into two floors, reaching the ground floor living room, kitchen, garage, and on the floor at night and laundry program. The latter is organized along a longitudinal axis open at the ends. On one side of this axis are dormitories with their respective bathrooms, while the other lies a double room and staircase as a hub of communication between the two vertical plants, and two courtyards, one of them integrated into the main bedroom.
